Mini fire engine a hit
Firemen in Croatia have invented a "mini" fire engine to battle blazes in the narrow streets of the country’s historical towns.

Split Fire Brigade head Felicijo Parcina came up with the idea for the small fire-fighting car after struggling to fight fires in the city’s alleyways and narrow streets.
Parcina, who worked for two years to develop the vehicle, said: "I wanted to take the best bits from fire engine sand put them into a multi-purpose small car. It is suitable for fighting fires in all locations."
The car can carry four fire-fighters, reaches a top speed of 90 kilometres per hour and at only 1.5 metres wide and four metres long, firemen say it is ideal for tackling fires in old city squares but also forests and fields. It can carry 1,000 litres of water and 20 litres of foam.
Priced at 117,000 Euros, Parcina says he has already had interest in the car from foreign fire brigades.
